Jim Sheridan MP complained to the Press Complaint Commission that the newspaper had published an article reporting criticism of MPs who were gifted free Olympics tickets by sponsors that failed to report that, in fact, he had refused the offer. The complainant argued that this would have resulted in readers being misled in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper corrected the online article and published the following footnote:

An amendment has been made to this article since publication after Jim Sheridan MP contacted us. He wished to confirm that whilst he was offered Olympic tickets, he did not accept the offer.
