Joanne Swan, the mother of two children with a rare autoimmune dysfunction, complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had misrepresented her daughters' condition in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper made a charitable donation as a gesture of goodwill.
