Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: Sunday Life Complaint: David Brown complained to the Press Complaints Commission, via HarteCoyleCollins Solicitors, that the newspaper had published an article that contained a number of inaccuracies in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice, including the incorrect assertion that he was convicted of rape in 1994. Resolution: The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following clarification: In a report in the March 18 edition of Sunday Life it was stated that life sentence prisoner David 'Dee' Brown was convicted of the brutal murder and rape of Roberta St Clair Gunn in 1994. In fact Brown, who had a previous conviction for rape, pleaded guilty to murder and the charge of rape was left on the books. We are happy to set the record straight.Date Published: 13/07/2012
