Complainant Name: Clauses Noted: 1 Publication: Daily Mail Complaint: Mrs Laura Zaman complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an online article reporting that a teenager had shouted "Allahu akbar" as he grabbed the Olympic torch, whereas this could not be heard in the accompanying video. She considered this to be a breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. Resolution: The newspaper provided another video of the incident in which the phrase under dispute could clearly be heard. The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the addition of this video to the online article to make the position clear to readers.
