Ms Jackie Green complained to the Press Complaints Commission through Trans Media Watch that the magazine had published information in breach of Clauses 1 (Accuracy) and 12 (Discrimination) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant was concerned that the front cover reference to the article, a reference in the contents section, and the headline of the article - which featured the complainant as a semi-finalist of Miss England - incorrectly referred to those who had undergone or were undergoing gender reassignment surgery and were participating in beauty contests as men. The complainant was a woman and it was therefore incorrect and discriminatory to refer to her as a man.
