Press Complaints Commission - Complaints Officer The Press Complaints Commission is currently in a phase of transition while the Leveson Inquiry, and a broader debate about the future of press regulation, is ongoing. It is, however, continuing its complaints-handling work, assisting members of the public with concerns about the editorial content of newspapers and magazines and their websites, both pre- and post-publication. It is looking to recruit an articulate individual to handle complaints on a 6-month contract. The job includes negotiating the amicable resolution of complaints and writing draft rulings. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and write cogently and intelligently, having achieved at least a 2:1 degree (or having been educated to an equivalent standard). Although no previous experience is required, a background in regulatory or complaints-handling work will be an advantage. To maintain its independence, the PCC does not generally employ journalists. Applications setting out why you would like the job and why you are suitable - which should be received by 12 September and be accompanied by a CV - may be sent by email to recruitment@pcc.org.uk or to Recruitment, Press Complaints Commission, Halton House, 20/23 Holborn, London, EC1N 2JD. The PCC offers a competitive salary package. www.pcc.org.uk03/09/2012 << Go Back |
